Christmas Trees Recycled for Fish Food

Did you you that Christmas Trees can be used for fish food? It maybe hard to swallow at first (no pun intended) but it is true. Trees are weighted down with concrete blocks and are places in lakes in the Ohio area and it attracts all types of fish at all levels of the food chain.

“Fish need something to associate themselves with,” said Dan Wright, a state fish management technician. “During their spawn, they’ll come up and find these trees. They’ll hide in them. They basically make a Christmas tree their home.”

So the next time you think Christmas Trees has no use after December, think again.
